A focus timer that asks what you got done
Email is the only channel, and it is read by the one person who makes the app. Give it a day or two.
Reporting something broken? Three things help most: your iPhone model, the iOS version, and what you did right before it went wrong.
iPhone, iOS 17 or later. Two features need iOS 26 — see the last section. There is no iPad, Mac, or Apple Watch version.
Where are my records kept?
On this iPhone, and nowhere else. There is no account, no sign-up, and no server behind the app.
Will they follow me to a new iPhone?
Yes, if you set the new phone up from a backup of the old one — iCloud backup or a computer backup, either works. The app's data comes along with everything else. Installing Kernel Focus fresh on a new phone gives you an empty jar; there is no way to pull the old records down from anywhere.
Can I use it on two devices at once?
No. There is no sync, because there is no server to sync through. If that ever changes, it will be in the release notes.
My older records are gone.
The free version shows the last 90 days. Nothing was deleted — the earlier entries are still on the device, just out of view. PRO opens the whole ledger, and everything reappears.
How do I fix or remove a single entry?
Tap it in the ledger, then Delete this one. You can also add a round by hand there if you forgot to start the timer. Shells that already went into a jar stay in the jar.
How do I get my data out?
Settings › Export writes a CSV and hands it to the share sheet, so where it goes is up to you. Export is a PRO feature.
How do I delete everything?
Delete the app. That takes all of it, because there is no other copy anywhere.
I paid before, then reinstalled. Where did PRO go?
Open PRO and tap Restore Purchases. It asks the App Store what you already own. You have to be signed in with the same Apple Account that made the purchase.
Is there a subscription? Will I be charged again?
There is no subscription. PRO is a single product, paid once. It covers every version from here on, you are never charged again, and there is nothing to cancel.
I want a refund.
Refunds are Apple's to give, not mine, at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Does it keep counting if I leave the app or lock the phone?
Yes. The timer does not depend on the app being open, and locking the screen is not treated as an interruption.
Nothing sounded when the round ended.
First check that notifications are allowed for Kernel Focus in iPhone Settings. On iOS 26 the end of a round is a system alarm, which sounds through the silent switch and through Focus modes. On iOS 17 to 18 it is an ordinary notification, so the silent switch does silence it.
I put a round down early. Did I lose it?
No. It becomes a dud — an empty shell — and drops into the jar like any other. There are no streaks in this app, so there is nothing to break.
Siri doesn't recognise the phrase.
The phrases come through Shortcuts and use the name of the seed, as in "Hey Siri, start focusing on Spanish." A seed by that name has to exist first, and Siri has to be set to the same language as the phrase.
Two things, and below iOS 26 they are simply absent — nothing else about the app changes.
The alarm that sounds through silent mode and Focus. And the one line in This week's note, which is written on the device by Apple Intelligence; that one also needs a device that supports Apple Intelligence, with it switched on.
